About ReStore The very first restoration I carried out was at the age of twelve. It was an Angelus push-up player and I obtained the necessary materials from Goddards in Tottenham Court Road. This was in 1935. Since then I periodically restored the odd pneumatic playing action until 1970 when I established the business ReStore, working out of a rented workshop at 69 The Grove, Ealing. Having lived above the Post Office at 51 The Grove, when this subsequently closed in 1982 I started renting the shop as a pianola showroom with a workshop at the rear. I have since taken on full time restoration of pianolas including Ampico, Welte, Duo-Art and pneumatic players in general, including harmoniums and orchestrelles. I specialise in restoring pneumatic actions but ReStore is able to offer a comprehensive restoration service including re-stringing, piano actions, gilding, and polishing using a selective list of specialists. ReStore can also arrange transportation and advise on the purchase of playing rolls for your instruments. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements.
